Terms and Conditions
By booking a time slot all clients using Donkey Dell Dog Exercise Fields agree to the following terms and conditions:
No more than 4 dogs are to be exercised within the allotted time without agreement with the proprietor. The correct option must be chosen on the booking form.
The hirer/user agrees to remain in their vehicle before their time slot begins and to leave the premises within their time slot.
The dogs brought for exercise should be attached securely within the hirer/user’s vehicle and not released at any time off lead prior to exercising in the allotted field. There is ample parking space and if you do arrive a few minutes early please stay in your car with your dog(s) to avoid meeting any other client who may well have a dog who is, for example, timid/dog aggressive/ not people friendly etc. We want this to be a successful, stress free experience for all people and dogs who use the fields.
The hirer/user agrees to ensure the field and surrounding areas are left in a clean and tidy condition by agreeing to clear up after their dog/s and themselves by placing all dog deposits in the dog bin provided and taking any other litter home.
There are donkeys present on other paddocks but please do not feed the donkeys or approach them with your dogs or your children and please keep dogs on leads at all times and away from the donkeys, when the dogs are not inside the designated dog exercise field. This is to avoid any stress or accidents to either donkeys or dogs and as animal lovers, I am sure you can appreciate this is a strict condition. Any breaking of this rule will result in the refusal of any further bookings/removal from the property immediately with no refund.
Children are welcome but must be supervised whilst on the property and not allowed to climb on any gates, fencing, equipment. No child should be left alone in any of the fields. This is a dog exercise field and not a children’s playground, but to see children and dogs enjoying the space happily and under diligent adult supervision safely is ideal. Responsibility for any child remains entirely with the hirer/user.
Any toys, balls or other equipment brought for dogs or children for your session should be removed and please leave time to do this within your allotted time slot.
Please check all gates are securely closed.
Nicotine (cigarette butts) or vaping liquids and cartridges are poisonous to animals and children. Thus, please ensure none of these items are left on the fields or any part of the site but taken home for your safe disposal there.
Please do not leave any broken or chewed equipment on the ground, as it could be a choking hazard to a subsequent user, but take home with you or if it belongs to Donkey Dell, then please place in the bin.
Please do not alter any aspect of the paddock.
Do not (or allow others to) climb or pull on the fences or gates, remove or cause damage to any fence, gate, seating or equipment. Inform the proprietors immediately if any accidental damage occurs.
Hirer/User Own Risk
It is the user/hirer’s responsibility to check they have a confirmation email with the code to the gate and have booked the correct slot and have the Donkey Dell code to enter the premises.
It is the responsibility of the user/hirer to ensure the exercise field is suitable for their dog(s) prior to letting them off lead and all dogs must be kept on lead whilst moving between vehicle and exercise field.
All dogs should be insured under their owner’s public liability insurance and the proprietors accept no liability for escaped dogs. All precautions are taken to prevent this happening but please do report any problems in the field that might have occurred between inspections. Please deter/distract your dogs from digging in the fields, but if they start to dig, please fill in any holes that they make.
The use of the fields/parking areas whilst on the premises is entirely at the owner/hirer’s own risk.
The proprietors of these premises accept NO liability for any damage to property or injury to, or the death of, any person or dog using the exercise fields.
The proprietors accept no liability for any damages, losses, claims, actions, costs/expenses or other liability incurred by the hirer/user when using the fields, whether using the fields exclusively, or whilst attending a group event.
The hirer agrees that the proprietors maintain control and possession of the Donkey Dell land and exercise fields and equipment at all times. The hire of the field does not constitute any rights over any of the land.
Exempted Dogs under DDA
With the new government legislation on banned breeds coming into force on 31st December, we have contacted our Insurance company to check the situation in our private dog fields.
‘’ Hire of the dog fields by owners of banned breeds must be for them only and not multiple people.
In order to legally own a banned breed, the owners must:
- Register their dog with the Index of Exempted Dogs to obtain a life certificate
- Have their own third party liability insurance in place
- Handle their dogs on a one to one basis
- Keep them on lead and muzzled at all times when in a public space
- Ensure their dog is kept in a secure place so it cannot escape ‘’
Thus if anyone wants to attend our dog fields they should send us a copy of their exemption certificate please.
The dog must be kept muzzled at all times when outside the dog field itself and until the gate of the dog field is secured.
To be absolutely clear this means the dog must remain muzzled in any area other than inside Field 1 or Field 2.
In the light of no further information from the Government at present, it is the owner’s responsibility to decide whether they remove the muzzle once inside the dog field but must replace the muzzle before leaving the dog field, thus following their exemption regulations, as known at the present time.
Possession
All and any equipment belongs to the proprietors and must not be removed from the paddock by the hirer/user.
The hire is for the field only. Enrichment equipment may be added or removed without notice.
The gate code will be changed regularly. The code will be sent in the reminder email shortly before your allotted booking. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure they know the current code. Hirers/users must not give the gate code to anyone else or leave the gate unlocked for another user.
The proprietors reserve the right to ask any user to leave the paddocks at any time for any reason
Hire Payment
No booking will be valid without payment unless agreed by the proprietors, in writing.
The correct payment must be selected on the booking form.
Payment of the full fee is required when booking and is non-refundable unless the hire is cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the hire time.
Please do not bring your dog(s) if they are unwell and discuss the situation with the proprietor via the links give on the website.
Payment to be made according to the website links please.
We reserve the right to close the paddocks at any time. In the event we have to close without notice, any future bookings will be deleted, and the credit returned to the hirer.
If you encounter any problem, please contact the proprietor as soon as possible.
CCTV policy
We have erected CCTV cameras on site for the security of the site, which stands on and Ancient Monument, protected by English Heritage rules and regulation. The security of our clients and their dogs, and of the owner and staff of Donkey Dell, and the stock belonging to Donkey Dell, and those horses on the rented field at the left top field of the site. Thus, both entrances (front and back entrance) are covered by our CCTV cameras.
We are registered with the ICO and data is not kept or shared for any reason other than security and/or capture of illegal acts. In the case of illegal acts, it will be shared with the appropriate legal authorities.
We hope all our clients are reassured by this addition and if there are any issues that they contact the owner, Marilyn, by email at enquiries@donkeydell.co.uk
